The Fractured Dimension is a trio consisting of Jimmy Pitts on keyboards/piano, Jerry Twyford on bass, and Alex Arellano on drums/percussion. Pitts and Twyford were members of avant-garde dark metal band Scholomance (The End Records), and Arellano was the drummer for the progressive metal band Power of Omens (Elevate Records), each of which garnered international acclaim and a solid reputation in the progressive scene. In 2004 Alex, in search of a new band, contacted friend and fellow Texan Ron Jarzombek (Spastic Ink, Watchtower, Blotted Science). Ron highly recommended Alex contact Jimmy Pitts, as Jimmy had been a guest keyboardist on Spastic Ink's Ink Compatible cd. Both musicians, alongside bassist Jerry Twyford, began work on several compositions by Pitts. The outcome of which was a style of music combining elements of prog, fusion, modern classical, avant-garde, metal, and even world music, all performed in a highly complex style which retains a deep sense of emotion.
Modern compositional concepts and intensity of rhythm: that is what one can expect from this genre-bending group. High caliber musicianship, and a vast array of contorted theoretical concepts abound, while never losing a firm focus on the construction of moving melodic passages and memorable songwriting. The Fractured Dimension is not merely technical for the sake of being technical, but extremely musical for the sake of transcending normality
In 2008, The Fractured Dimension released their debut album Towards the Mysterium. a stirring tribute to the Russian composer and mystic Alexander Scriabin. Guitarists Ron Jarzombek, Tom "Fountainhead" Geldschlaeger (Elevate), Marcel Coenen (Sun Caged, Lemur Voice), Aaron Roten (Super String Theory), Bill Bruce (Shotgun Messiah), Brad Hull (Forced Entry), Brev Sullivan (Featured on Fridays), and fusion legend Mikhal Caldwell, along with trumpet phenom Jim Shannon, violinist Joe Deninzon (Stratospheerius/Blackmore's Night),
Alto saxophonist Joshua Thomson (Ashraam) and Indian percussionist Mike Prescott have each lent their services as guest musicians and honorary members to bring the album to the highest level possible. All of these guests have laid down some of the best lead work of their careers.  And with The farctured Dimension, Alex, Jimmy & Jerry have found the chemistry and vehicle of expression that will allow them to set their sights intently on the outer-reaching boundaries of progressive music for years to come.
